Welcome to week six of my Letters to Mother Goose poetry series! You know Mother Goose writes in rhyme, but did you know her characters are poets too? Join me today and all summer long as I share my series of poems (one each week) written to Mother Goose by the characters she created in response to her wish upon a star:
Twinkle, twinkle, little star. I wonder how my children are. Up above the world so bright, if I may, I wish they'd write.
THE ORIGINAL RHYME:
Little Betty Blue lost her holiday shoe. What can little Betty do? Give her another to match the other and then she may walk in two

MOTHER GOOSE, YOU’VE GOT MAIL!

STAR LIGHT, STAR BRIGHT, COME TO STORY TIME TONIGHT
You’re invited to a magical slumber party with all your nursery rhyme friends! Join Little Bo-Peep, Georgie Porgie, Miss Muffit, the cow that jumped over the moon, and all their pals as they march merrily toward Mother Goose’s house for a cozy slumber party full of stories. And after they are all tucked in continue to the back of the book and find a section with your favorite nursery rhymes.

THANKS FOR POPPING IN
I hope you’ll join me for more of this fun series—next week Mother Goose will hear from Cow who has taken up a new interest that doesn’t involved jumping over the moon (but is just as amazing!).
