Word Wandering is a playful type of poetry inspired by Nikki Grimes. I’ve written a few of these poems, and they’re always fun! This might be my favorite style right now. My previous poems covered words like waves and rocks, and today I’m writing about the word “Bug.” Join me for some fun wordplay. I’m excited to share a new piece of Word Wandering—a form of word play poetry inspired by the brilliant concept developed by author and poet, Nikki Grimes and featured on Today’s Little Ditty. This particular poem took shape quite spontaneously while I was on a recent, restorative vacation in Carmel, California. The environment there proved to be an irresistible catalyst for creation.
